Head immobilizer is necessary when using Emergency stretcher.It is designed to conform patient's forehead which can prevent patient from secondary damage during transporting. Each unit should have: 1 Base Board with eight "D" shape loop, 2 Block with round hole, 2 narrow Belt, 2 wide Strap.
When using the Head immobilizer,pls do as follows:
a.put base board on spine board, insert the top belt through the central hole on spine board.
Have belt go through the D loop, reverse and stick on belt velcro.
b.Immobilize one side velcro to D loop.Then turn over the spine board and immobilize the other side velcro to symmetrical D loop.
c.Firstly immobilize a Block on base board's one side by velcro.Put patient's head carefully one the base board.Put the other Block to the other side of head and get the proper position for head immobilization, stick to velcro. Neither leave a too large space between two blocks or immobilize head uncomfortably too tight. Hole on block is used to monitor patient bleeding.
d.Use one strap and two symmetrical D loop to immobilize forehead. Use the other strap and left two symmetrical D loop to immobilize the chin.
