Canada's Chief Medical Officer Tan Yongshi issued a statement on the 7th local time: Up to now, 1.868 million people across the country have been tested for new crown pneumonia. According to statistics as of June 6, a total of 95057 people were diagnosed with newly diagnosed pneumonia, accounting for about 5% of the total number of people tested. 7773 people died from the infectious disease.

Also according to statistics as of June 6, 53,614 of the 95,000 confirmed cases of newly diagnosed pneumonia have recovered, accounting for about 56%.

The statement quoted statistics from Statistics Canada as saying that 92% of the people did comply with the requirement of keeping social distance and 95% said they washed their hands more diligently than before. All these measures help to control the spread of the epidemic.

However, the statement admitted that one-fifth of Canadians had mental problems after the outbreak of the new crown pneumonia, manifested in varying degrees of anxiety and led to increased consumption of alcohol, sweets and junk food.
